Lovesick Calvinist

I am dark, but by His blood… I am lovely.

Love is in the air!

I am excited!!! Today we had our first ‘real’ meeting for the LOVE REVOLUTION. God has given me a wonderful bunch of youngsters as my mobilization team…. Zealous and all out, these kids are exactly what I need for the job. We only have less than two weeks to get things ready, but we are all very positive that everything will fall into place, by His will. The production team is also a gifted group; they would really lift off so much burden from my shoulder. They have way more know-how on stage production than I probably will ever have…

The experience I have had last December 21 made me learn so many things about ministry and ministering to the youth. In my fear to not water down the gospel and veer away as far as I can to being “seeker-sensitive” I went to the extreme of being somehow reckless and uncaring. I now believe in being seeker-sensible, all things for all men. To the youth I will translate the gospel in a language understandable to them, and use all means to send that message, via multimedia, music, stage presentations and what have you. So that’s pretty how much it will look like on FEB 12. There is a more careful preparation for the production, I’m more organized, praise the Lord. Hehe.

But that’s only as far as the administrative side goes… we gotta have FORM plus POWER. We can plan all we want, and rack our brains every day for brighter ideas, but if God doesn’t show up, it’s all in vain. I have seen humanistic tendencies too many times that it breaks my heart to see how countless of ministries depend so much on their own skills and strength to carry out Kingdom work. Prayer doesn’t play a central role in the whole process of it all, and that is plain tragic, not to mention arrogant. So JREV would like to stay true to its core value and that is: the lifestyle of prayer and fasting. Here in Kidapawan, God has chosen faithful intercessors who wake up 4am every day from Monday to Friday just for this event and to pray for Mindanao to be filled with the glory of God.

Faith without works is dead. If we keep interceding without acting out what God instructs of us in the secret place, then this kind of foolishness will only lead to a fiasco. Prayer and planning must go hand-in-hand. Much prayer, much power!
